Coffee with Crenshaw
In case you missed my latest Coffee with Crenshaw last week, here is the link to the full video.
In my discussion, I provided insightful updates on my work on the Task Force to Combat Mexican Cartels, House Committee on Energy & Commerce, and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Topics included border security, combating Mexican drug cartels and the trafficking of people and drugs, the detrimental impacts of gender-affirming care on minors, and how DEI is promoting a toxic culture on college campuses. We also talked about the latest vital projects which I secured federal dollars to help complete, saving us money in the future.
Everything you need to know about FISA (the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) – one of the most important tools for our counterintelligence efforts. FISA received a temporary extension as part of the National Defense Authorization Act. Soon, Congress will debate reforms to FISA, and I hosted two of my colleagues from the House Permanent Select Committee on Intel, Chairman Rep. Mike Turner and Rep. Darin LaHood to describe how FISA actually works, discuss the competing reform bills, and debunk common misconceptions about the government’s ability to use FISA to spy on Americans. By the end of this episode, you’ll have a solid grasp of Section 702, Title 1, FISA courts, the Crossfire Hurricane scandal, and, of course, what would happen if an analyst wanted to spy on Paul McCartney.
Congressman Turner is the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, and member of the Oversight and Accountability Committee. Follow him on X and Instagram at @repmiketurner.
Congressman LaHood is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the Ways and Means Committee, and the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party. Follow him on X and Instagram at @RepLaHood.
