TOMORROW: Stop By Our Tax and Environmental Incentives Resource Fair! 

 

Tomorrow, Congressman Kim will be hosting a Tax Credits and Environmental Incentives Resource Fair at the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County. There will be local nonprofits, county, state, and federal agencies at the event providing information and resources about environmentally focused tax credits and incentive programs, utility efficiency improvements, and VITA services available for eligible taxpayers. 

 

The resource fair will expand on our Tax Incentives and Inflation Reduction Act Webinar from last month as well as our webpage to provide an opportunity to engage directly with nonprofits and government resources. No RSVP is required to attend the resource fair.

March Madness for Casework

No April Fools here! In March, our casework team was proud to close 349 cases and return $520,110 to our Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth communities. Our office is here to help! If you need assistance with a federal agency, visit our website for more information and reach out.

Commemorating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Women’s Equal Pay Day

 

The wage gap hurts women, and women of color even worse. On Wednesday, we helped to shine a light on AANHPI women who on average make 80 cents for every dollar made by a white, non-Hispanic man. 

 

This discrepancy is unacceptable and the Paycheck Fairness Act is a vital first step to ending this injustice. Congressman Kim will continue to work toward achieving equal pay for equal work.

 

Celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility 

 

Sunday was Trans Day of Visibility and an important opportunity to celebrate and uplift people’s right and power to live as the person that they are. We are committed to bring our community together to dispel hate and create the safe and equal world trans lives deserve.

 

Autism Awareness Day

 

This week, we joined in celebrating World Autism Awareness Day and the amazing people around us with autism. As we raise awareness and understanding, we also focus on our work alongside incredible advocates in New Jersey to break down barriers and make the world more inclusive and accessible for all.

 

Looking at the Past and to the Future as We Closed Out Women’s History Month

 

During Women’s History Month in March, Congressman Kim hosted a dedication ceremony for the renaming of the Bordentown Post Office after Clara Barton. As we closed out the month on Sunday, we wanted to share a piece of that celebration for those who couldn’t make it in-person. Watch here! 

Over the weekend, we were also thrilled to uplift another local hero, Alice Paul, and a young leader whose service she inspired! Our March #ServiceSpotlight Kira will soon graduate from the same school Alice Paul attended and is already a truly inspiring servant leader for our community. UPCOMING: The 2024 Congressional Art Competition

 

It’s that time of the year again! This week, we were thrilled to announce the 2024 Congressional Art Competition and look forward to seeing all of the amazing art that students in our district will create.

The first day we will be accepting artwork is coming up on April 9th. Learn about the rules, timing, and submission process for the competition here!
