"New Jersey Democrat Targets Sen. Menendez's Access to Classified Information — and Trump's"
— NBC News, March 28, 2024
Folks, I believe public servants who knowingly compromise our national security and betray our country should never have access to classified documents. My new legislation would make this the law of the land. If you agree, add your name to become a citizen co-sponsor of my newest bill.

Last week, I introduced the Guarding the United States Against Reckless Disclosures Act, or GUARD Act, legislation that would prohibit any federal official or candidate who has been criminally charged for undermining U.S. National Security from accessing classified intelligence documents.
Because Donald Trump — who has been indicted on federal charges for mishandling classified documents and for his role in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results — is all but certain to win the Republican nomination for President.
That means in just a matter of months, he could begin receiving daily intelligence briefings. How in the world can we trust that he’ll protect us? How do we know he won’t sell our secrets to foreign adversaries?
And yes, this would apply to Senator Menendez, too, who has been charged with abusing his power as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee by accepting bribes from foreign governments.
Republican or Democrat, if you undermine our laws, our country, and our Constitution — you must be held accountable.
Folks, passing this legislation isn’t just a matter of right and wrong — it’s an urgent priority to protect our national security ahead of a banner presidential election year. If you agree that Congress must pass the GUARD Act immediately, please add your name to sign on as a citizen co-sponsor >>
Thank you,
Mikie
