Dear Neighbor,

When President Biden took office, he promised to address the rising student loan debt crisis and in the face of adversity, he has continued to make progress. Six attorneys general filed a lawsuit, and the Supreme Court, including three justices appointed by former President Trump, ultimately ruled the plan unconstitutional.

But President Biden did not give up. Despite the Supreme Court’s decision, he vowed to find ways to provide student debt relief through other means, and he did just that. In addition to eliminating $140 billion of student-loan debt, he created the SAVE Plan – an affordable student loan debt repayment plan.

The SAVE Plan offers incredible relief for student loan borrowers. Your monthly undergraduate loan payments are cut in half, and your balance won't increase from unpaid interest. Plus, if you've consistently made payments for 10 years and borrowed $12,000 or less, your remaining debt will be completely forgiven!

The SAVE Plan isn't just a promise – it's delivering results. Almost 153,000 borrowers have already seen their debt erased, including 8,000 borrowers in New York. 7.5 million people are now enrolled, with 4.3 million enjoying $0 payments. For low- and middle-income borrowers, the SAVE Plan is an accessible option and can be a fast route to loan forgiveness.

To enroll in the SAVE plan and see how you can benefit, visit studentaid.gov/SAVE.

The SAVE Plan is one of the many ways President Biden continues to make good on his promise to make higher education more accessible and affordable for all Americans. I encourage you to take advantage of the SAVE plan today.

Sincerely,
