Hi,
Our planet is in desperate need of a globally binding
plastics treaty. Plastics threaten human and environmental
health, and without a commitment to reducing plastic production and
waste, the plastics problem will only get worse.
That’s why EARTHDAY.ORG organized a multi-stakeholder dialogue in
partnership with the Embassy of Sweden and the European Union
Delegation to the United States to raise awareness about the
environmental, climate, and health impacts of plastics. You
are invited to watch live on our social media while it’s being held at
the House of Sweden in Washington, DC, on April 8 from 10:00am -
12:00pm.
RSVP to receive a reminder and links to watch
on Monday.
This event comes in preparation for the next round of
negotiations for The Global Plastics Treaty. Last September,
world leaders formulated a first draft — the “zero draft” — but it
needs additional accountability and specificity. The Fourth round of
negotiations (INC-4) is coming up in Ontario, and we must garner the
attention and support of world leaders now.
Join this event live to learn more about why plastics are a
threat to your health and the health of the planet, and listen as
environmental leaders discuss possible solutions. This
information will empower you to be an effective advocate for the
planet and support us in the fight for an effective, globally binding
plastics treaty.
Listen in on an important discussion about the
future of our planet.
For all of us,
Kathleen Rogers President
