The newest POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows that, after an initial bump, public approval of Trump’s response to the current crisis is dropping.
The poll shows 47% of voters think the administration isn’t doing enough in response to the outbreak, up from two weeks ago. Morning Consult also reports that voters overall approval of Trump’s response is down 7 points in the last two weeks.
But more than half of the poll’s respondents still approve of Trump’s handling of the crisis, even though this week he rejected increasing insurance access through an ACA special enrollment period and is forcing states to compete against each other for critical medical supplies, driving up prices.
