URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Tell Minnesota Baseball Team St. Paul Saints to Change Their Offensive Mascot's Name Immediately!

Tell the St. Paul Saints to Change Their Offensive Mascot Name!

The Minnesota minor league baseball team, the St. Paul Saints, recently announced the name of their mascot as ‘Ozempig’ and gave the pig a backstory of trying to lose weight. Despite pushback, the baseball team has decided to stick with the offensive name.

Everyone should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their size or weight, yet many people face bias for living with obesity on a daily basis. The St. Paul Saints mascot name does real harm by reinforcing negative attitudes, beliefs, judgments, and stereotypes that lead to discriminatory acts aimed at individuals simply because of their weight or diabetes status. Now is the time to put an end to weight bias and tell the St. Paul Saints to change their mascot's name.

That's where you come in!

Here's How You Can Help!

Using our automated message generator in the OAC Action Center, send a letter to the St. Paul Saints baseball team urging them to change their mascot's name. To make it easy, we've already drafted the message for you. It's a simple but impactful way to make a difference for people with obesity and stop weight bias!
