Dear John,
As Salamu Alaikum.
Laylatul Qadr is the night of decree – a night greater than a thousand months. For the upcoming year, what is decreed for all things is commanded on this night. As we focus on the last few days of Ramadan, know that our good deeds are multiplied exponentially, and in conjunction with Laylatul Qadr, the opportunity to carve out our destiny is paramount. It is the night in which the holy Quran was revealed, the night in which our past shortcomings can be exonerated, and an opportunity to give and show mercy as the closing of Ramadan approaches.
Because this month is the month of exerting efforts for good deeds, and Laylatul Qadr signifies its closing, it is important to busy ourselves with that which can help others. In addition to exerting our efforts through prayers and worship, it is a good opportunity to exert ourselves in our civic duties as well. American Muslims have the power of faith and the power of truth.

That is why these next few months will be crucial as MPAC works to build programs for our community focused on voter engagement and making it known that our voice matters. Organizations like AIPAC are lobbying Congress to give billions in unconditional weapon funding to Israel and issue legislation that endangers our students. This month reminds us that true honor and power come from our faith and community.
While we may not have billions in funding on our side, we do have generous supporters in our community who are helping us continue our mission of building a narrative for American Muslims in legislation, news, and media. The Muslim voice is needed in these tumultuous times. And within the night of decree, our affairs will be decided. Let us have our affairs decreed while taking part in good actions and supporting Muslim representation that changes the narrative of Muslims. We believe that your voice matters and that your support is necessary for us to #MarchForwardTogether this election cycle.
In Service,
Salam Al-Marayati
MPAC President
