This seat had never been held by a woman until 2016, and in the midst of devastating attacks on our autonomy and reproductive freedoms, having a woman continue to represent Delaware in the U.S. House is more critical than ever.

My career has been defined by my commitment to fighting for the rights of women, children, families, the LGBTQ+ community, and marginalized groups in my home state of Delaware and across the country. In my four years as a state senator, I passed paid a family and medical leave bill, secured new gun safety laws, outlawed the outrageous "LGBTQ+ panic defense" in our state, and fought to bring down the cost of child care.

I made history as the first openly transgender state senator in the country — and if elected, I'll be the first openly transgender member of Congress.

But not only am I running to make history, I'm running to make a difference. We're living in a time when trans and reproductive rights have been disproportionately subject to hateful legislation, and I'm committed to ensuring that everyone has the right to bodily autonomy and the right to determine the course of their futures, their families, and their lives.

Because everyone deserves a member of Congress who sees and respects them.

I'm fighting harder than ever to stand up to Republican extremists, protect our reproductive freedoms, and ensure that no one has to choose between their health and their paycheck.
