I’m running for Congress in Oklahoma’s First District to bring Oklahoma values to Congress.
I'm proud of my Oklahoma roots and values because both led me to a career in public service. I've always felt a calling to serve the public and Congress needs new leaders who will put Oklahomans first, not politics.
Oklahoma values means looking out for your neighbors and your community regardless of which presidential candidate they support. But right now, politicians are more interested in using their office to divide us for their own partisan political gain. They see running for office as a way to get out of Oklahoma and live a Washington lifestyle that forgets us.
That's why I'm running - because now more than ever, Washington needs the Oklahoma values that I share with Oklahomans in every neighborhood in this district. That's how we make change and progress for Oklahoma families and businesses.
That means adults and kids getting the education and skills training they need to get a job with good pay and healthcare benefits. That means every hard-working person gets the benefits like Social Security and Medicare that they've paid into and earned. That means women's rights are protected and respected.
I wish this campaign was only a contest of which candidate has the best policies for Oklahomans – because if it was – this campaign would easily win.
But it’s not.
Today’s political reality is simple – whoever raises the most money has the best chance of getting their message out. My opponent, MAGA Rep. Kevin Hern, is filling his fundraising coffers. He is planning on using these funds to buy millions in media marketing to blast out his MAGA message of hate, revenge and victimhood. Hern is counting on drowning out our message of bringing Oklahoma values to Washington and working together to solve our most pressing problems. I won’t let that happen.
Yesterday I officially filed as a Candidate for Congress. Today – I’m back at work raising the funds we need to get our message out. I’ll be doing that day and night. Because this election is our best chance to move forward into a new era.
