The Just Deeds Project
At their April 2 meeting, the Mendota Heights City Council heard a presentation from Two Rivers High School students on the Just Deeds Project - a coalition in the Twin Cities working to raise awareness of racial covenants in property deeds, and encourage property owners to discharge them.
Following the presentation, Council Members joined the coalition in condemning the use of discriminatory covenants, and discharged racial covenants on all city-owned property.
