- Community Updates

Community UpdatesWe closed out March is Reading Month with two great stops at Tyler Elementary in Belleville and Roosevelt-McGrath Elementary in Wayne, where I had the pleasure of meeting some outstanding third graders and their amazing teachers. During our visit to Roosevelt-McGrath, we surprised Ms. Furlong with our Teacher of the Month award for her commitment to fostering a great learning environment in her classroom. I always enjoy visiting schools across our communities and engaging with some of our youngest learners, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s March is Reading Month.

Last Monday, I was joined by Governor Whitmer, Congresswoman Dingell, and activists from across our region for a very special Reproductive Rights Roundtable in Brownstown Township. Our conversation focused on the importance of fighting for bodily autonomy, and I would like to thank everyone who participated in this discussion regarding the work we have in front of us to protect the rights of women across Michigan.
