If you haven’t heard, access to reproductive health care is again before the U.S. Supreme Court. Last week, the court heard oral arguments over a case that will determine the legality of mifepristone — a safe and effective drug used in over half of U.S. abortions. 

This is the same court that overturned Roe v. Wade, and a ruling against this critical reproductive health care could pave the way for a national abortion ban. 

New Jersey serves as a safe haven for abortion and reproductive rights. The Murphy Administration has worked hard to protect abortion access in our state and increase access to reproductive health care to ensure every person has the ability to decide when to start their own family. 

But the reality is that a ruling here in favor of restricting access to medication abortion is a serious threat to all states, including states with protections like New Jersey.
