TEXAS MUSIC OFFICE SXSW 2024 RECAP

During this year?s SXSW Conference and Festival, Team TMO was everywhere, all at once. Our small but mighty team of five conquered its 34th SXSW since the office opened in 1990.

This year, we held our Official SXSW Meetup, the Texas Music Meet Up, and welcomed attendees from all over the world to discuss Texas Music. We also participated in the official Texas Trade Booth that was co-sponsored by the Texas Economic Development & Tourism (EDT) and the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC), along with the Texas Film Commission and Texas Travel. TMO Director Brendon Anthony presented to the French, German, and Irish Delegations while they were in the state?s capitol for SXSW and met with attendees at the Governor's Mansion for the Texas Technology Innovators Reception.

The TMO was also proud to be present for multiple events with BMI Texas including their BMI Brunch, BMI YETI Showcases, and BMI Howdy Texas, where TMO Director Anthony was presented with a custom guitar from BMI in honor of BMI?s Fifth Year Anniversary of being in Texas. We also co-sponsored the Armadillo Presents: The Next Waltz Family Jamboree 2024 at the Continental Club, highlighting multiple Texas artists.

Team TMO attended multiple events, including Luck Reunion, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM)'s Ray Benson's Birthday,?National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) SoCo Stomp and Live List Showcases, Tunecore Mixer, and the GRAMMY Texas Chapter Block Party. We also held multiple meetings with organizations such as The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC), Music Policy Forum and Sound Music Cities, Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), Tunecore, and the City of Lubbock ? Rhythm & Roots Podcast. To cap it off, Director Anthony presented musician Eric Church with an official recognition from the State of Texas at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

We look forward to seeing all of you at SXSW 2025!?
