We know, we can’t believe we wrote that subject line either.
But it’s true John - for all their serious failures, there is something that the Conservatives are doing better at, even if we don’t agree with how they do it.
Fundraising.
We know that word often has people reaching for the ‘delete’ button, but please take a minute to read this email and understand why it is so vital we keep talking about fundraising.
You might have seen this graph before - we sent it to you a couple of weeks ago, but we think it’s really important you see it again. | And as if that wasn’t worrying enough, it was reported in February that the Conservatives received a further £16.5 million in donations from October - January.
This gives the Conservatives a huge advantage over us in our target seats.
This is why it is vital we keep asking for your support and donations. | | Our party is an outstanding campaigning force, and we’re in a good position to beat the Conservatives in lots of seats across the country.
But we cannot allow the Conservatives' increased fundraising power to undo all our hard work and prevent our incredible candidates from getting elected.
So please, John, will you contribute to our General Election campaign? | | When we last showed you that graph, lots of you donated, and thank you so much if you did.
Our General Election campaigning fund is growing, but if we’re going to keep up with the Conservatives, we need to continue to ask for your generosity.
We know that not everybody will be able to give. But if you can, your donation could help us stop the Conservatives from tipping the scales completely in their favour.
Whether you can give £10, £25, £50 or more, any donation is important. | | Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and for all your support. | | | With best wishes, Liberal Democrats
