This Week's Highlights

Monday

Republican Alison Esposito (NY-18), a 25-year NYPD veteran, spoke out about how liberal politicians' soft-on-crime policies are leading to tragedies like the murder of 31-year-old NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller, who was shot and killed by a career criminal last Monday in Queens.

Esposito's message is clear: "Enough finally has to be enough. We need to vote out all of the anti-police, pro-criminal leaders in New York and stand up for law-abiding New Yorkers and law enforcement again."

Tuesday

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) officially filed for re-election in Tennessee.

When she was elected in 2018, Blackburn became the first woman to ever represent the Volunteer State in the U.S. Senate.

Wednesday

Rep. Michelle Steel (CA-45) highlighted the shocking 6,300% increase in Chinese nationals who have been arrested for illegally entering the U.S. compared to Fiscal Year 2021.

We are just halfway through FY 2024, and the data from Customs and Border Patrol shows a concerning rise in apprehensions:

  • FY 2021: 342
  • FY 2022: 1,987
  • FY 2023: 24,125
  • FY 2024: 22,233 (so far)

Thursday

In response to President Biden's call for a ceasefire in Gaza, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) spoke out about how this is effectively a demand that Israel surrender to Hamas.

As she and many others have pointed out, it is Hamas -- not Israel -- who has repeatedly rejected a ceasefire as they continue to hold innocent people hostage.
