Tram Line Spot & Nottingham Contemporary

Hosted in partnership with Skate Nottingham, and supported by Skateboard GB, Samsung Flip Park Notts aims to bring the buzz and success of London Flip Park to a city rich with skateboarding history and community.

Free events will take place at the Tram Line Spot and Nottingham Contemporary on Saturday 13 April, including skateboard design workshops, panel discussions, yoga for skaters, photography workshops, coaching for all abilities, and a skate jam with the chance to win Samsung prizes and more! Renowned skaters will also be ripping at Tram Line Spot throughout the day.

The events are free and we recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment, however limited walk-ins will be available on the day too.

Laura Mathews' puppets are an exploration into the intricate dynamics of animal movement - partly to understand them, and partly to inhabit another creature, feeling through the strings what it is to swoop and soar. This free exhibition showcases her complex creations and the beauty of movement.

Three years in the making, Lotte Reiniger’s beautiful 1926 silhouette animation brings to life magical tales from the Arabian Nights. Musician Chris Davies reinvigorates the film with his skilful composition and live performance using a spectacular array of instruments from around the world to accompany Prince Achmed’s journey from the Middle East to Africa, China, and beyond.

A unique city centre exhibition by young photographers, who have been mentored by former Young Creative Award winner and professional photographer, Lamar Francois.

Candid urban images taken by six participants, including YCA 2023 winner Deanna Gallacher, are showcased on Smithy Row.

The photographers went on a series of photo walks around the city, where Lamar highlighted opportunities amongst the busy streets and helped them capture, edit, and select the images they have now shared in the exhibition.

More than 60 local stallholders will be selling a variety of products, including freshly baked goods, sweet treats, vintage clothing, plants, skincare, homeware, jewellery, and pet accessories.
