Friends, let’s talk about this November’s elections and this moment in our history.
We know 2024 will be a close election between an accomplished President and Vice President who are building an economy that works for all while building stronger alliances around the globe.
Joe and Kamala have led America out of COVID-19 better than any nation on the planet. Jobs are up, wages are up, your 401(k) is up. We’ve done historic work to forgive student loan debt, and lead in clean energy innovation. We’ve made sure that America is building again, we’re bringing supply chains home, and manufacturing jobs are on the rise.
And there is so much more to do!
But we’re up against a disgraced ex-president who’s focused on tearing us down and tearing us apart.
Tearing down his opponents, both Democratic and Republican. Tearing down precious rights, like reproductive freedom and the right to vote. Tearing down alliances like NATO.
Even tearing down our democracy with his pathetic and dangerous effort to block Congress from certifying what was obvious to all: he lost his race for re-election in 2020.
Never before in our history has there been a leader so intent on tearing us down.
And sadly, those running for the GOP nomination for Senate in Virginia — and most Republicans currently serving in Congress — are marching in lockstep behind a man who’s hellbent on tearing us down.
I’m running for re-election to the U.S. Senate because Virginians are stand-up people, not tear-down people.
In good times or bad times, Virginians are not mean-spirited, pessimistic, name-calling complainers. We are upbeat, can-do, roll up our sleeves, get the job done people.
We stand up for democracy and equality. We stand up for economic opportunity. We stand up for guarding the rights of all.
And, most importantly, we stand up for each other.
I’m committed to standing up for you in the Senate. Will you help me get there by pitching in whatever you can to my re-election campaign?
Thank you very much.
