Davis, California – The city council passed an ordinance to ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products beginning September 1, 2020.

Kentucky – Gov. Beshear signed into law a Tobacco 21 bill which removes offenses for youth who purchase, use, or possess tobacco products. Tobacco products can still be confiscated under the bill but shifts penalties toward retailers who fail to follow the new age restriction. The law went into effect immediately.

Rhode Island – The state permanently banned the sale of all flavored vaping products, including mint and menthol, as of March 26, 2020. The ban follows an emergency order that went into effect in October which temporarily banned the sale of flavored vape products.

West Virginia – Gov. Justice signed into law a bill that creates a Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Task Force. Disappointingly, the legislature cut funding for the task force that was originally included in the bill.
