Property tax rates lowest since 2008

Good new, Oswego! The Village of Oswego portion of your property tax rate is decreasing 5.11% as opposed to the original projection of 3.00%. The final tax rates are calculated by Kendall County in early spring, so the Village uses a conservative estimate when the levy is set in December. The final tax computation recently received from Kendall County results in this being the lowest property tax rate since 2008 and the largest rate cut since 2015.
