Chair's Corner
Subject: A United Path Forward: Embracing Change and Opportunity
Aloha Members of the Hawaii Republican Party,
I hope this message finds you well and ready for the journey ahead. As your State Chair, it is both my privilege and responsibility to guide our party through times of change and towards our goals. Recent developments at the national level, including the stepping down of our previous RNC Chair and Co-Chair, mark a significant moment in our journey. I am excited that Mike Whatley has been elected as our new RNC Chair, with Lara Trump serving as Co-Chair. Their leadership begins a new chapter for our party, one that is driven for unity and our commitment to our principles. They are both focused on Grassroots and election integrity. Their ideas are just what the party needs at this crucial time.
In Hawaii, we've already demonstrated the strength of our purpose. Some may try to criticize our numbers, but we pulled together statewide to almost triple the turnout of what the democrats did and showed more votes casted for our winning candidate then theirs. The recent caucus was a resounding affirmation of our direction, with Donald Trump securing 97% of the vote – a clear signal of our shared vision for the future. This overwhelming support is not just a win, it's a mandate for us to continue working tirelessly towards saving our state and our country. We need to start celebrating our wins, no matter how big nor how small.
Looking ahead, we have special and important events that will require all hands on deck. The Kuhio Dinner on April 13th promises not only to be a celebration of our values and honor Prince Kuhio, but also an opportunity to share a special message from our new RNC leaders. Our upcoming convention on Oahu on May 4th and 5th is an important gathering for shaping our future. This is our moment to come together, in person, to vote on new rules, new platforms, and to elect our RNC Committeeman and Committeewoman, alongside showcasing our candidates in the parade of candidates.
For those considering running for committeeman or committee woman, today marks an important deadline. Submission of paperwork (here) for 5 signatures is due by end of day. After today, the requirement increases to 25 signatures. Please ensure submissions are sent to both myself and the State Secretary at [email protected] and [email protected], in accordance with our bylaws available on our website, www.thehawaiirepublicanparty.com.
We also extend a call to our Oahu members willing to host guests from our neighbor islands. Your hospitality embodies the spirit of ohana that defines us. Please reach out to [email protected], and keep an eye on our website for a sign up hosting form. We are also welcoming those who are willing to provide transportation from the airport and/or to and from where our members are being hosted or being accommodated.
This is a time of renewal, of pushing ahead with purpose. The road ahead is filled with challenges, but together, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome. Let's embrace this moment with the goal to win, not just in elections, but in our mission to support the values that define us as Republicans and as stewards of our state and nation.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Kuhio Dinner and the May convention, it's time to set aside our differences if we are to succeed and make a difference in making Hawaii and America great again.
Aloha,
Tamara McKay State Chair Hawaii Republican Party
