Blocking student debt forgiveness

Folks, I’ve said it over and over again. Every time you catch a handful of Democrats sneaking off to help Republicans pass a terrible bill – Rick Larsen is one of them.

He did it in 2005 when he broke with the Democratic majority to pass the bankruptcy bill – which is the direct cause of our current student loan crisis (among many other problems).

He did it in 2018 when he broke with the majority AGAIN to pass the banking deregulation bill – the direct cause of the Silicon Valley Bank collapse that nearly triggered another 2008 cascade failure.

He did it TWO MONTHS AGO when he leant a helping hand to Mike Johnson’s MAGA agenda by passing a liquified natural gas (LNG) expansion bill.

Now Larsen is at it again.

Buried within 1000 pages of text for the proposed 5-year FAA reauthorization bill is a clause that would outright BAN student loan forgiveness for people who obtain federal loans for flight school.

I’m a lifelong activist and organizer, a former public school teacher, a former elected union leader, and a working class dad. My opponent is a former lobbyist turned life-long politician who never misses an opportunity to make life harder for working families like yours and mine.

This seat is the BEST chance for the Green Party to gain a foothold in Congress. Will you pitch in $25, $50, or whatever you can today to help us win this seat?

Rick Larsen isn’t just a Democrat. He’s actually one of the top 15% most conservative Democrats rated by CPAC’s measure of how much he aligns with conservative legislative priorities.

Our district will never see progress on the climate crisis, living wages, student debt relief, affordable housing, or union rights as long as Larsen clings to this seat.

It’s our job to see him out in November and take this country forward.
