Dear John,
Working people from all walks of life, people we know and love, are out-of-work and struggling to make ends meet. Without paid leave or health care, countless people are grappling with impossible questions about how to pay rent or put food on the table.
Meanwhile, in as little as 3 weeks, millions of us who have had the opportunity of working-from-home will receive stimulus payments for financial hardship experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic. While some of us may need that money, we also recognize the difference the cash would make for our friends and neighbors—folks in the hospitality, restaurant, retail, and many other industries—who are not getting paid.
That's why we're convening worker leaders from the most impacted sectors to launch the Jobs With Justice Worker Solidarity Fund, a fund that provides direct financial assistance to workers and gives unemployed people space to organize and build power long term.
Join us today by donating ALL or PART of your stimulus payment to working people suffering from incredible hardships during this crisis—your donation will go to the very same people who have long been exploited by structural racism and other systems of exploitation designed to prevent them from receiving a fair share of the money generated by their own labor.
