John,
After President Biden announced a massive new investment to enroll 50,000 young Americans in the Climate Corps and provide them with good-paying jobs, Republicans went nuts!
Some of the most conservative voices in the Republican Party, like Rep. Dan Crenshaw, said it would be equivalent to lighting the money on fire. Apparently, even getting young people to clean up nature is too political now!

SUPPORT THE CLIMATE CORPS » [[link removed]]Look, at this point, we know everything with the word “climate” in it will be controversial for Republicans in Washington, but the truth is giving young people an opportunity to get good-paying jobs and clean up the environment is extremely popular with the American people.
SEEC Vice Chair Chellie Pingree has pushed back against Republican opposition to long-standing programs the American Climate Corps saying, “The GOP will attack anything that smells like a good environmental program.”
