The Data Quality Assurance Program oversees all Water Quality Division (WQD) sections for the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
The underlying goal is to ensure that all environmental data (e.g., field-collected data, scientific literature) aligns with standard scientific methods, state statutes, and federal regulations for defensible decision-making. These objectives are accomplished by establishing Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, developing guidance and policy, and providing training and audits to ensure data credibility and compliance with state and federal requirements.
Full details of the WQD Data Quality Assurance Program activities and achievements in 2023 are publicly available in an ArcGIS StoryMap, which can be accessed here.
