For as long as most of us can remember, politics have never been shared in class. It has been a mutual understanding by pretty much all involved with a child’s education that raising a child or at least teaching personal beliefs and opinions should fall to parents and/or the child’s family, not the school.
So, schools have just taught the facts, allowing each child to later decide for themselves how they will believe.
But that’s not necessarily the way it still is. Instead, some teaching staff have begun sharing their own personal political beliefs in class and instructing their charges on how to think the same way.
We’d like to know if you think that’s OK. Or should this kind of sharing be banned?
