MAGA Republicans on Donald Trump’s shortlist for vice president, including New York Representative Elise Stefanik, are seeking out advice from former vice president Mike Pence … but they’re doing it quietly .

Why? Because if they want to curry favor with Donald Trump, they can’t look like they’re siding with his former-friend-turned-nemesis.

On January 6, Donald Trump sent his violent, insurrectionist supporters after Mike Pence for refusing to betray the constitution, abuse his power, and overturn the legitimate 2020 election results. They literally called for his head, chanting “Hang Mike Pence.” Even today, Trump continues to point fingers at Pence for refusing to go along with his unconstitutional, authoritarian plot.

But Elise Stefanik couldn’t care less. She’s sticking to Trump’s talking points, saying last month on CNN that “I would not have done what Mike Pence did.” Nevertheless, she’s still seeking his advice.

Elise Stefanik only cares about power. She’s so committed to flipping Pat’s seat that she’s quickly become Alison Esposito’s top donor . Next on her to-do list? Becoming vice president and forcing her extreme agenda on the American people. We have to stop her.
