Hi,

This week marked Equal Pay Day -- a day that represents how far into the New
Year a woman has to work to earn the same as her male counterparts.

Right now in America, on average, women only make 82 cents on the dollar to
what men doing the same work earn. And for women of color, that number is even
lower.

It’s shameful that in 2020, many employers are still signaling to women that
their hard work isn’t as valuable as a man’s.

That’s why I’m asking 2,500 grassroots supporters of mine to add their name to
send a clear message that we DEMAND equal pay for equal work! Can I count on
you to add your name?

These last few weeks have proven how critical it is we close the gender wage
gap.

A vast majority of hourly workers are not men, but women who provide the only
form of income for their families. And many of these women are forced to work
low-paying hourly jobs that lack social distancing to make ends meet, all while
juggling family responsibilities and search for child-care opportunities.

It’s time to be bold and value women across the country by closing the gender
wage gap once and for all. Will you stand with me by adding your name to tell
Congress we demand a bill to ensure EQUAL PAY FOR EQUAL WORK?
