Yes, you read that subject line correctly, John: our team at Vote Mama is working to FLIP the House, and we are going to do it by supporting pro-choice Democratic mamas.
There are three elements to our strategy for 2024:
FIRST — we will DEFEND Vote Mama alumnae who are running for re-election in districts targeted by extremist Republicans.
AND — we will support 10 Vote Mama candidates running to FLIP districts from red-to-blue to take back the House majority.
YOU — are a key grassroots supporter and we need you to play a DIRECT ROLE in supporting our work. To be honest, we really need your engagement right now.
We worked too hard to elect these mamas for them to get sent home now. Seriously, their work in Congress at this critical moment for reproductive rights is too important for a SINGLE one of them to lose their seats.
Our alumnae also need more pro-choice moms to get elected to Congress to pass truly family-friendly legislation like paid family leave and to codify reproductive freedoms.
The candidates we endorse are running in targeted races where every dollar raised and every vote cast could make a difference between a win and a loss. Laura Gillen’s race was just upgraded to one of the most competitive opportunities for Democrats to flip a seat in Congress.
Look, the Republican majority in the House is by a slim margin — and from abortion rights to voting rights, far too much is on the line to let Republicans continue to hold power.
Democrats only need to net 5 seats to win back the House. This election cycle: our pro-choice, Democratic mamas can FLIP the House.
