An end to use of threatened species in TCM?

A proposal to promote the development and use of substitutes for endangered animal and plant ingredients in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been submitted at China’s annual plenary sessions of the National People’s Congress. EIA applauds the call to move away from the use of pangolins, leopards and other threatened species. Zhao Wanping, who tabled the proposal, said banning the use of wildlife species based on extinction risk and ethical concerns is the inevitable course of development.

Brits want climate change and methane action

Some 84 per cent of Britons support action to minimise climate change impacts. The first international poll on climate change and methane, commissioned by the Global Methane Hub, also shows that 83 per cent support reducing emissions of methane gas.
