** China touts bear bile shots for coronavirus ([link removed])

Despite most scientists agreeing the coronavirus pandemic arose in China from wildlife, our experts revealed that the Chinese Government is currently throwing its support behind a treatment containing bile milked from bears in captivity. Bile is a digestive fluid produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder; harvested using techniques involving invasive surgery. Once we published our findings, the report was picked up by several news sites and snowballed from there to achieve global coverage.

** Indonesia bids to weaken legal timber rules ([link removed])

In March, we warned that Indonesia is diluting rules keeping illegal timber out of its international trade, using the coronavirus as an excuse. A Government directive undermines systems put in place to ensure the legality and traceability of timber.
