Ted Cruz has developed quite the reputation of being incredibly good at
*not doing the job he was elected for* — but when he has decided to work,
it hasn't been for Texans,

[ [link removed] ]A headline from The Guardian details Ted's latest amendment to provide
himself with taxpayer funded private security.

That’s right — after being caught red-handed fleeing the Lone Star State
for a Cancun getaway — Ted is now leading the effort to seek airport
police escorts for lawmakers.

While this amendment is part of a larger bill to fund the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) for the next 4 years (that will likely pass) — we all
know the real reason Ted is pushing for this.

[ [link removed] ]If Ted Cruz wants another vacation in Cancun, we're eager to help him —

Instead of working to solve the crisis at the southern border that he and
other Republicans in part have caused or keeping our kids safe from gun
violence, Ted has decided to prioritize taxpayer-funded private security.

Moreover even airport law enforcement is against this. In response to
Cruz’s amendment, the Airport Law Enforcement Agencies Network — an
organization that in part represents the interests of airport law
enforcement across the country said the following:

[Cruz's amendment] Would prove a burden to airport police agencies...that are
not adequately funded.

Texans should NOT be responsible to pay for the security of a senator who
treats this job like a part-time gig anyways.

Enough is enough,
John. No matter how he tries
to portray this amendment, nothing can change the truth: Ted Cruz fled our
state while Texans froze in the dark.

It's time for him to go on a no-expenses paid, permanent vacation from the
