Can I get a drumroll please for our newest 2024 New American Hero, John? đ„
It is my honor to introduce you to a true champion for diversity, a fearless community advocate, and a role model for so many of us in the New American Leaders family. Our second 2024 New American Hero is Jefferson Elementary School District Trustee Manƫfou Liaiga-Anoa'i!
ManĆ«fou is a proud first generation Samoan-American from San Francisco, California. She currently serves as a Trustee on the Jefferson Elementary School District Governing Board but her public service extends far beyond her elected position. She is also on the board of the Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS), was appointed by the California Superintendent of Public Instruction to co-chair the Closing the Gap Initiative for the state, and is a fellow for School Board Partners Cohort as well as a member of the Center for Asian Pacific American Womenâs, American Womenâs Leadership Instituteâs Class of 2024.
Her incredible commitment to public service and empowering the next generation of leaders are just two of the many reasons why we are thrilled to recognize her as a New American Hero!Â
Not sure you can make it but still want to celebrate Manƫfou? Check out our host committee and sponsorship opportunities. We'd love to include you in this celebration of our New American Heroes and our movement!
Hope to see you there,
Lorenzita Santos
