If you don’t know what the Republican Study Committee is, you should – and I’ll tell you why. Representatives Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, and Zach Nunn just signed on to the RSC’s extreme budget proposal that would raise the Social Security retirement age, privatize Medicare, ban abortion, and threaten IVF.

It’s not just a threat anymore – it’s a real proposal they’re pushing because they’re more focused on playing politics with people’s lives than serving their constituents.

The budget plan:

The majority of Iowans and Americans are against every single one of these policies. Yet, Representatives Feenstra, Hinson, and Nunn don’t seem to care. So what can we do?

We can take action now. IDP wants to amplify the stories of people like you who have personal experiences with social security, Medicare, reproductive freedom, and IVF. If you have a story to share, please do so by clicking the button below to submit yours.

In addition, you can share this link and call your representatives and make sure they know that you stand firmly against the RSC proposal, and you can take action with Iowa’s Democratic Congressional campaigns, which are already hosting volunteer events that they’d love to see you at.

Iowa Republicans have made clear where they stand – but Iowans aren’t standing with them. Let’s ensure they do the same at the ballot box this November and get to work today.

Iowa House Democrats: 15 years ago, Iowans celebrated the right to marry who they love, when Iowa became the third state in the nation to rule in favor of marriage equality. Sadly, Iowa Republicans continue to introduce hateful bills including overturning marriage equality. Iowa House Democrats know we have a long way to go but we will not stop fighting for LGBTQ+ Iowans.

Iowa Senate Democrats: Fifteen years ago, the Iowa Supreme Court ensured the freedom for ALL Iowans to marry. While the anniversary is a moment for celebration, it’s also a critical reminder of the continuing work ahead of us to protect the rights of every Iowan.
