Right now, too many Americans are still struggling with the societal, economic and political cracks in our system, issues that are often exacerbated for LGBTQ+ people of color and the trans community. Over the last three years, we've seen how easily our healthcare and support structures can be overwhelmed. We've seen a record-number of anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced in state legislatures around the country.
But all these issues point to one thing: we need more passionate and diverse leaders in office. We need diverse LGBTQ+ leaders who are ready to provide solutions and defend equality. We need more leaders to fight back and to fix the inequalities exposed by the pandemic or exacerbated by bigoted bills. The Fellowship – exclusively for LGBTQ+ leaders of color and/or trans leaders -- includes an all-expense paid attendance at our four-day Candidate & Campaign Training, all-expense paid attendance at our three-day International LGBTQ+ Leaders Conference and a six-month mentorship program with LGBTQ+ leaders. Those chosen will learn about life as an LGBTQ+ elected official and how to run in today's fraught political climate, hear from other LGBTQ+ candidates and elected officials about what worked (or didn't) on their campaigns, brainstorm legislative ideas - and more!
