Folks,

As the coronavirus continues to affect families across the country, I have been so inspired by this incredible grassroots team for stepping up when it matters most to support vulnerable communities during this time.

Now, I’m turning to you once again to ask if you would consider pitching in a donation to help another organization on the frontlines of this pandemic.

Mujeres Unidas y Activas (MUA) is an organization of Latina immigrant women that provides immigrant communities with peer counseling, support groups, and vocational training. They also work around the clock to defend immigrant and domestic worker rights.

During this challenging time, MUA has launched a relief fund for its members, all of whom are low-income immigrant women. Many of these women are domestic or contract workers who have lost their jobs and do not qualify for unemployment or federal relief.

If you’re financially able, would you consider making a donation to MUA to help them reach their goal of providing 400 members with mini grants of $500 each? Every dollar you pitch in will have an immediate impact on someone’s life.

Thank you so much for anything you’re able to give. But please, only pitch in if you’re financially able to at this time. The most important thing you can do right now is take care of yourself and your loved ones.

In solidarity,

Barbara Lee
