NEWS FROM AUBURN, MAINE

STORM UPDATES

PLEASE NOTE: Trash and recycling will NOT be collected today in Auburn. Many roads are blocked by downed or low power lines and/or fallen trees, so the trash trucks (and plows) cannot get through. Please HOLD your items until your next collection day.

If you prefer not to wait, you can drop your household waste (at no charge) at Maine Waste to Energy (Goldthwaite Road) after the storm. Recycling can be dropped at the large bins on Gracelawn Road near Public Works.

Reminder: A PARKING BAN remains in effect in Auburn. The ban will expire at 9:00AM on Friday.

Please have patience with our Public Works crews. All available staff are working around the clock to keep up with the storm. Roads throughout the city are blocked by power lines or trees. So, please stay safe and stay OFF the roadways until the storm is over and we can get things cleaned up.

AUBURN HALL IS CLOSED today. Please note that many city services are available online at www.auburnmaine.gov.

WARMING CENTERS: The Lewiston Warming Center at Calvary United Methodist Church (59 Sabattus Street) has adjusted their hours and will remain open throughout the storm.

The Auburn Senior Community Center (48 Pettengill Park Road) will be open on Friday from 9:00AM - 2:00PM for residents without power who may need to warm up & charge devices.
