was set, and it looked like Meta Nash would win the Mayoral race against Jennifer Dougherty and Alan Imhoff. Jennifer Dougherty strongly encouraged all of her supporters to get out early in the day to vote, before going to work, and they did.
Normally, voting early in the day wouldn't have much mattered, except that on that day, at 8:46 AM, Flight 11 crashed into floors 93 through 99 of the North Tower. The day: 9-11-2001.
After that, no one really cared about voting. Jennifer Dougherty won the primary based on those early banked votes, she went on to become the Mayor for the City of Frederick.

On February 13th of this year, New York had a special election to replace a Republican US Congressman. Everyone anticipated a close election, and the Democrats, as is normal practice now, voted by mail or voted early. The Republicans were ready to cast their votes, but the vast majority could not - why? A nor'easter snowstorm rapidly dumped over 3 inches of snow that day and kept them away from the polls.
I don't anticipate snow on May 14th, Maryland's, Primary Election Day, but we really don't know what will happen. Voting by mail or voting early will make sure your vote will count.
If you are like me, I would prefer that everyone vote on one day - Election Day. In Congress, I could even work to change that nationally, but right now, we have to deal with the laws that we have.
Did you know that in early voting and regular voting in 2022, I won the election for US Congress? It was the vote-by-mail ballots that overwhelmingly went for my opponent that cost us the election. We are working hard to not let that happen this time; please Bank Your Vote by voting earlier.

1) To vote by mail, please go here. ([link removed]) It is super easy to request your ballot online as long as you have your driver's license. Voters who have already requested vote-by-mail ballots should be receiving them this week. If you get yours, could you email me to let me know you have it?
The deadline to ask for a vote-by-mail ballot online is May 7th.
2) To vote early, the early election sites will be open from May 2- May 9 from 7 AM to 8 PM every day. You can vote at any of the early-voting sites in the county where you live. For a list of voting sites, you can use the following links:

Thank you for making a plan to vote. I'm looking forward to working alongside you to get elected to the US Congress to bring common-sense back to our country. Your family is worth the work.
One last thing: Would you be interested in helping me by working at one of the polling locations during either early voting or on election day? If so, please email me at
[email protected] as we are starting to get lists together if you contact me now, you can lock in your preferred location.
For our country,
Neil
