Friend,
Local democratic process will be restored
We have reversed Labour's undemocratic changes to how local communities make decisions about Maori wards.
At the next Local Body election, referenda will be held so that local communities can have their say on the future of Māori Wards - including those that were established without public consultation.
New Zealand First believes any decision about Māori wards should remain with communities and we have championed the rights of the public to be a part of the democratic process.
Friend, show your support by chipping in as little as $5. <[link removed]>
