During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Medicaid Continuous Enrollment Provision prevented states from disenrolling individuals from Medicaid, even if they no longer qualified, to ensure adequate healthcare coverage during the public health emergency. This policy was terminated on March 31, 2023, beginning the year-long Medicaid "unwinding" process for states. This means your coverage may be at risk.
This past weekend, Connecticut concluded its Medicaid unwinding process and resumed normal coverage determinations. It is critical for individuals who might have erroneously lost coverage to check their eligibility.
To check your Medicaid coverage eligibility or apply for health coverage go to Access Health CT or call 1-855-805-4325, or visit the Connecticut Department of Social Services or call CT DSS at 1-855-626-6632.
