Donald Trump banned Roe v. Wade, and now look how bad things have gotten.

This week the Florida Supreme Court approved Republicans’ extreme 6-week abortion ban. Starting in May, millions more women in the United States will be denied access to abortion.

It also means that for women in the Southeast, the closest state to get abortion care will be North Carolina, where there’s a 12-week ban.

This is incredibly scary, John. For decades extreme Republicans have been strategizing to make this a reality. And let’s be frank, their plan worked (thanks to Trump and McConnell…). Until we can enshrine Roe v. Wade into law, this is our new reality. If you are friends with anyone who says voting doesn’t matter, please make sure they understand what is happening right now.

If democrats show up to vote this fall we have a shot at reversing this. A democratically controlled Congress would absolutely pass a law making Roe v. Wade law of the land again. But, if we lose, if we let Republicans like my opponent Kevin Lincoln win, then not only will more states pass laws like Florida, abortion will most likely be banned across the country.

I’m on the frontlines of this fight in Congress. I see how bad this can get. We have to make sure Democrats take back the House this fall.
