John, my name is Michael B. Moore.

I'm a dad to four sons, a community leader, and the descendant of enslaved ancestors here in South Carolina. Now, I'm running for Congress.

I want to tell you more about how my family history shaped me into the person I am today, but first, can I ask you to chip in any amount to our campaign? This battleground race is heating up, and we need all the support we can get. [[link removed]]

My great-great-grandfather, Robert Smalls, was born enslaved and grew up knowing what the total depravity of one's rights felt like. His government viewed him as property of another individual.

Robert was conscripted to be a ship pilot for the Confederacy. He learned all he could about his ship and gained the trust of the Confederate captains. Robert had the audacity to use his self-taught skills to steer himself, and his Black crewmates and families to safety in the North. He later came back to South Carolina and served as Congressman for Beaufort.

As a kid, I remember visiting Robert's bust. A lot has changed since then, but my great-great-grandfather's perseverance and grit still runs in my blood. It's helped shape me into the person I am today – and it's why I'm running for Congress to continue his legacy.

Robert's story is woven into the fabric of our country. Yet, there are MAGA extremists who are working hard to ensure it never enters school curriculums. They want to erase our history and send us back decades in the fight for voting rights and reproductive freedom. It's unconscionable!

My opponent, Nancy Mace, has abandoned her constituents in exchange for Donald Trump's radical agenda. She's been a top supporter of his in Congress, and is even privately campaigning to become his VP pick. In Nancy's eyes, being a public servant is all about her.

The Lowcountry deserves a representative who leads with its best interests in mind and is resolved to weed out extremism in Congress. You can count on me to be that leader, but I urgently need you in this fight with me.

I'm ready to follow in the footsteps of my great-great-grandfather and fight for South Carolina with perseverance and grit. There's a lot to accomplish in Congress, and if we flip this seat blue, Democrats will certainly take back the House Majority.

Can I ask you to chip in $25 or any amount to my campaign to help me win this race and defeat Trump's protege, Nancy Mace? [[link removed]]
