Almost 10 million people have filed for unemployment since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. 6.6 million people filed for unemployment in the last week alone. This is a historic low for job security in this country, and a catastrophic blow to our economy.

That's why Alex has made passing the Green New Deal a top priority for when he gets to Congress because he understands that we need to propose solutions that match the scale of these unprecedented problems. And that means prioritizing a swift and inclusive bailout for the people right now.

However, instead of focusing on providing financial relief to working families, Republicans and the Trump administration have prioritized bailing out corporations.

In this moment of crisis, we need to change the rules. Tell Congress that we need a bailout that prioritizes the security and wellbeing of working people and families.

Most American families don't have even $400 for emergencies, the amount Republicans are purporting families should save at minimum for situations like these. But with most service workers making minimum wage, many families are unable to afford basic needs let alone save for an emergency.

In just this past week, over 50 Members of Congress have signed on to the People's Bailout. Tell your Representatives to support a relief package that makes the security and wellbeing of working people the priority.
