This is a difficult time for all of us. COVID-19 has disrupted our lives and put the well-being of many at risk. We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and remain safe.

At Advocates for Youth we are particularly worried about some of our youth activists and we need your help.

Our staff have been in contact with our youth leaders, many of whom were asked to leave their schools and/or lost their jobs. Some of these young people are undocumented or worked in the gig economy and may not have access to the government resources allocated in the COVID-19 relief packages. Others cannot go home because they are not welcome there or it's not safe for them. Many are in desperate need of funds to help pay rent, buy food, or even obtain an airline ticket to fly home.

These young leaders have been on the front lines of the progressive movement, pushing for a better and more equitable world. Now they need our help, and we are not sitting idle.
 
We are asking you to donate whatever you can spare to help these young people in these uncertain times.

Our goal is to raise $20,000 for our young people. 100% of these funds will go to helping our activists who need it most. Please consider making a donation here to help our young people when they need it most.

In addition to funding, our staff and youth activists have been hard at work compiling and disseminating a list of COVID-19 resources. These resources range from mutual aid funds & social service agencies, to online support groups & guides to self-quarantine, to university housing support & directions to apply for unemployment. We will continue to leverage the work of the organization to advocate for young people’s health and rights.

Despite the recent uncertainty that this pandemic brings, our organization continues to unapologetically advocate for the young people we serve. Even in times of crisis, our work is desperately needed and your generous support is truly appreciated. When the urgency has lifted, the need for sexual health equity for all youth will remain, and Advocates for Youth will be here to continue the fight!
