Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! I’m pleased to update you on my work in Washington, D.C. and the First District of Kansas. It is an honor to represent Kansans in the Big First District in the 118th Congress. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger, and I believe our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service, Mann.House.Gov In the Office Reflecting on National Agriculture Month Last month, we celebrated the hard-working men and women who feed, fuel, and clothe the world. As a proud fifth-generation Kansan who grew up working thousands of hours in the family feed yard and on the family farm south of Quinter, I am honored to represent those producers on the House Agriculture Committee and in Congress. Each month, I highlight the life and work of Kansas ag heroes - the people who make our state the pilot light of America and who inspire me to continue fighting for Kansas farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers. You can read their stories and learn about their heart toward keeping Kansas agriculture and our rural communities thriving by visiting my website. Click here to read about Kansas Ag Heroes. Urging the EPA to Withdraw Overreaching Pilot Program and Herbicide Strategy Last summer, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released the Vulnerable Species Pilot Project and the Herbicide Strategy Framework, which added additional red tape and burdensome regulations for agricultural producers. These policies blow past sound science-based policy and place blanket restrictions across pesticides, operations, and impact thresholds. At a time when producers are already facing increased input costs, we shouldn’t force them to abandon risk management tools that have already complied with the Federal Insecticide and Fungicide Rodenticide Act. These plans from the Biden Administration would have staggering effects on the livelihoods of American agricultural producers and our nation's food supply. I joined my colleagues in sending a letter to EPA Administrator Michael Regan urging him to withdraw the program swiftly. Click here to read the full text of the letter. Visiting Washington, D.C.?
