John,
Despite last week’s UN Security Council resolution urging an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan, the situation for Palestinians in the region is growing even more dire as Israeli attacks persist — with no signs of stopping.
The situation on the ground is getting worse by the day, with U.S. officials warning of imminent famine in Gaza. Add your name to urge Congress to demand a permanent ceasefire, the safe return of hostages, and an end to U.S. taxpayer dollars and U.S. weapons being used by the Israeli military to commit war crimes against Palestinian civilians.

On Monday, CNN reported that the Biden administration is preparing to approve the sale of an estimated 50 US-made F-15 fighter jets to Israel, along with missiles and precision-guidance kits.1
The deal, likely worth over $18 billion, would be the largest US military sale to Israel since October 7th.
Then, yesterday, an Israeli airstrike targeted and killed seven aid workers from the international food charity, World Central Kitchen.2
It happened just hours after the group brought a new shipload of food into northern Gaza, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are facing starvation and famine as a result of Israel’s months-long blockade of humanitarian aid deliveries by land.
On the same day, Israeli forces also escalated hostilities beyond their borders, bombing an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria,3 and left Al Shifa Hospital — the largest medical complex in the Gaza Strip — in ruins, after a two-week raid.4
Amid all of this escalating violence, it can be easy to fall into the trap of despair. But we must not.
In a vote last week, the UN Security Council finally managed to pass a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.5 Instead of vetoing the resolution, the Biden administration abstained, ensuring that it passed — and signaling that our pressure is working, John.
Now, we need to demand that Congress and the Biden administration use their leverage — either by suspending weapons shipments or ending military funding — to force Israel to comply with the UNSC resolution.
At least 85 members of Congress have now called for a ceasefire — and our voices are making a difference. Let's keep the pressure on, John. Sign our petition, then, text CEASEFIRE to 30403 to reach your member of Congress and urge them to call for a permanent ceasefire and no more U.S. bombs, missiles, or funding to the Israeli military.
