Today, I want to take a moment to thank all of you. On Sunday, my campaign faced its first FEC fundraising deadline of the general election. Ahead of our deadline, my team and I sent out a number of emails asking supporters to make a donation to this campaign.

Because of your support, we hit our goal and will show up strong on the first FEC report of the year. Our opponent, the press, and naysayers will see that running a people-powered, honest campaign can be successful.

It’s not my favorite thing to have to reach out and ask for money. But this campaign is powered by grassroots support. No corporate PAC money. That’s why these deadlines and goals really matter. It means a lot to me that so far, over 2,300 supporters have stepped up and made a donation so far this year. Without you, this campaign would be impossible.

I’m proud that we are running a campaign powered by workers, parents, educators, and California families. Together, we are building something special. And I promise to be a voice with integrity in Congress for the priorities that matter.
