Donald has repeatedly stated that if he’s allowed to retake the White House, he’d pardon the January 6 insurrectionists.

These people were not tried and convicted for trespassing, John — they were found guilty of violently assaulting police officers. They had weapons, and some said they were there specifically to hurt people.

These are not people worthy of a presidential pardon.

Pardoning the insurrectionists would not only be morally wrong and a deliberate slap in the face to everyone affected that day — it would also set an incredibly dangerous precedent.

It would signal to Donald’s most extreme, most violent supporters that as long as he’s in office, and as long as you’re committing acts of violence on his behalf , you won’t be held accountable.

I know it’s easy to get caught up in Donald’s awful policies and the general chaos that surrounds him, but it’s important to remember just what a dangerous, authoritarian figure he truly is.
