Happy Earth Month,
John!

Protecting our planet is more than just one month or day out of the year —
we owe it to ourselves and Earth to go much further in addressing the
growing global climate crisis.

And while it will take an international effort to truly address climate
change — we can start by ensuring that our elected leaders are committed
to saving our planet and environmental justice.

That means getting rid of politicians like Ted Cruz, who have continued to
stand as an impediment to doing more to confront climate change directly.

Ted in particular has made his hostility to science a central theme of his
agenda.

We’re sure this won’t surprise you but despite the fact that 97 percent of
scientists agree that human caused climate change is caused primarily by
the burning of fossil fuels — Ted, like so many of his Republican
colleagues, do not believe in this glaring reality.

Just as recently as last year, Ted and other Republicans at the behest of
their fossil fuel backers, moved to gut climate funding in the 2024
federal budget amid a record year of heat waves, floods, and unprecedented
smog levels.

We can't think of a good reason to do this,
John. The time to act to
prevent more catastrophic disasters in the future is shrinking. Texans
deserve a senator who believes in science — and moreover will work to
devise and implement solutions that reduce the impacts of climate change —
not accelerate it.
