With the onslaught of graphically sexual and completely age-inappropriate children's library books in communities all across the country, many parents have tried to fight but have often felt discouraged by librarians' and elected officials' deaf ears. Not in Prattville, Alabama, however, as described by Lori Herring ([link removed]) , a mom, grandmom, and board member of Eagle Forum of Alabama. Undaunted by dismissive attitudes, a small group of parents eventually replaced every member of the local library board, and state officials are now considering guidelines to protect children's innocence. Imagine you have come here with another homeschooling family for your weekly adventure into the literary lands. Your children look forward to this outing every week, and you love watching them race around, so excited by the new stories they will discover. Until one day, you pick up a book that stops you cold in your tracks.
